Should Beyoncé Un-lyric Monica Lewinsky?

Beyoncé recently released her studio album Renaissance act 1 which I didn’t really dig but yeah.

Still a big fan of her’s though.

In one of the songs, Beyoncé mentions an ableist slur which she has since edited out of the song after some criticism.

All these resulted in renewed calls by Monica Lewinsky asking Beyoncé to un-lyric her.

The affair

In Partition a song in one of the singer’s previous albums she alludes to Monica Lewinsky’s stained blue dress, an event that occurred after she had performed oral sex on then-President Bill Clinton during their highly publicised affair that almost got the president impeached.

Oh, me so horny, yeah, he want to f–k

He popped all my buttons, and he ripped my blouse

He Monica Lewinsky-ed all on my gown…”

In a 2014 op-ed, her first public statement in a decade, Monica Lewinsky discussed her mention in the Beyoncé song.

She also suggested that the lyrics should be “He Bill Clinton-ed all on my gown.” Because after all, the fluid in question was Bill Clinton’s…
