My Weight Gain Journey

Gal Mux

--

I used to be curvy.

As a teenager, I had some meat around my hips and ass. At 19, I developed an allergy for proteins. I would get bumps on my face, fingers and head that would last for days. Even though they were painless, they were very trying for my teenage self who was already conscious of her changing looks.

On visiting the doctor, tests showed that my prolactin levels were high and I needed to avoid eating proteins of any kind for a few weeks and then reduce my consumption of them in the long run until my prolactin levels would return to normal. If they didn’t return to normal, I would have to go for further tests.

That is where the trouble started!

I couldn’t eat meat, eggs, milk, peanuts, beans or any other legume. My diet consisted of vegetables and boiled starches.

It is here that I discovered the lies that is consumer goods meant as food. Even if in the ingredients proteins weren’t listed, I would develop a reaction after consuming some biscuits and other so called none protein snacks. Vegetable oil was something else!

I became so paranoid about food and what it was made of, that I developed an eating disorder.
