I was at the agro vet buying certified beans to grow on my farm. It was the beginning of the rainy season so it was super busy. I realized the beans were more expensive than I had initially planned, so I asked to be pointed to an ATM where I could access some cash.

Turns out all this time, this stranger had been snooping in on my conversation with the shop attendant and followed me out to ask me some questions about the variety of seeds I was buying.

I was a bit startled at first.

This is downtown you know and it is always crowded and potentially attracts shady characters. Plus I am a tiny girl and any stranger approaching me unannounced startles me a bit. But after I sensed he was harmless, I answered the questions of this stranger who as a new entrant into farming, was looking for ideas on what to plant on some land his father had given him.

He did wonder though why I would be in that part of town. Farm activities in his opinion do not attract young women. How wrong was he!

Yellow beans was my seeds of choice. They mature faster than most varieties, are less flatulent having less gas when cooked and are therefore preferred over other varieties. They cook faster and also fetch a higher price at the market.
