The Matrix! Am I right?
If you are a fan of the Matrix Trilogy, I am pretty sure you have been eagerly waiting for the newest movie in the franchise. As a fan myself, I took the time to rewatch all the previous movies a few weeks ago in preparation for watching this one. Thank goodness I did! as there was a lot of throwback and easter eggs in the Matrix 4 that made the whole story more enjoyable.
The plot
The plot of the movie is similar to the first one. Neo is this tech guru that lives his life in the matrix oblivious of the fact that his so-called life is a mere simulation. Somehow still, he has doubts about this life and he starts seeking answers to his questions. Morpheus finds him, gives him the choice of pills and makes him discover his inner strength to lead the fight against the higher power that is in control of the simulation he is in.
Of course they throw in love and the support of a woman (Trinity) just like they did in the first movie.
You could actually call Matrix 4 a remake of the first film. The only differences between the two versions are the time gap, the new cast, the less impressive action scenes and the improved filming technology. Well, we could also throw in the addition of a shrink that complicates, manipulates and exploits Neo’s life…
