When we deal with others, share information, put out content, or are in the public eye in any way, feedback is something we should be expecting. Feedback can come in various ways. It may be verbal, in form of gestures or written form as in the case of mainly online platforms.

Feedback can be positive or negative. Positive feedback is very encouraging and it is usually the kind that many people hope to receive. Negative feedback on the other hand can be hurtful, annoying, and even discouraging. Receiving negative comments in the constant can lead to low self esteem and can be detrimental to a person’s mental health.

It is crazy that in a sea of positive comments that a person may receive, the one negative comment is the one that occupies your mind, bothering you to an extent of even ruining your day on some occasions.

In the era of the internet and social media, in particular, negative feedback and comments seem to be prevalent because the people making them are able to hide behind a screen and post whatever opinion they hold regardless of whether they should voice it or not. The lack of face-to-face experience tends to give them the courage and audacity to voice opinions they wouldn’t have been able to otherwise.
