Do you want Ads on your external views on Medium?
I have been publishing on Medium for almost 2 years now.
It’s been an up and down journey of taking breaks now and then before getting back on it again.
Generally, I’d say I enjoy my experience on Medium. I love to share my opinion through writing. And my stories get read! People are interested in what I have to say!
Some months my stories receive 15,000+reads. It’s exciting and very fulfilling! Especially when a reader says they resonated with my story or learnt something from it.
On Medium, I also receive much more external than internal views.
It’s a bummer that these many external views do not earn me a cent!
I have shared many times that I wished Medium came up with a win-win model where we writers also earned from our external views. This could even be as simple as external readers watching one 3-second ad before being taken to the story. Doesn’t even have to be a video. A frame is enough!
I have also read many stories from other writers that suggest something similar.
