But Why Are they Recasting The Duke of Hastings!?
I recently read online that Rege Jean Page had given his blessing for the Bridgerton production team to cast someone else to play the role of the Duke of Hastings.
What!?
Is there any other person in this entire galaxy that can play the role as super perfectly as Rege Jean Page did?
I doubt it!
It’s like trying to cast someone to play Flora Maria in The Sound of Music! It can’t work. Believe me. They tried to do it with Mary Poppins and we all saw it didn’t work.
Rege Jean Page was born to play the role of the Duke of Hastings. Anyone else attempting to be the Duke would be a water down. It would be an outright Rege Jean Page impersonation.
I can’t even imagine anyone that would be brave enough to even attempt to step into those super shoes.
The fans would shut the entire thing down.

Even the second season of Bridgerton with a great storyline, a great cast, and great acting failed to propel the show to the heights Rege Jean’s performance did.
The numbers don’t lie. And clearly, Bridgerton is not the same without this great, super talented, perfect…
